Planting Day at Belmont Regional Park, Wellington
Planting season is upon us... and we would love to have your help getting some more native plants in the ground at Belmont Regional Park! This planting day has been kindly funded and supported by Thankyou Payroll. This is our third-year planting at Belmont. In 2026, we will be planting another 3800 plants to help restore the bare hills of Belmont back into a thriving native forest. This forest will connect with the native ngahere/forest of Lower Hutt, Wellington, Porirua and through to Kāpiti, creating a wildlife corridor which will facilitate the migration and movement of our native fauna. CVNZ will provide all of the tools/equipment required including gloves and vests. We will also provide morning tea and refreshments. Please bring a full water bottle and any additional snacks/lunch. Please wear: long sleeved clothing to protect yourself from cuts and scratches and insect stings/bites, a hat, waterproof jacket and sturdy, covered footwear are essential. Volunteers are welcome to meet our team onsite, or get a ride in our CVNZ van. We can transport up to 9 people, please contact our office at: [email protected] or call 021 057 1370 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm) to reserve a seat in our van. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us via the details above.
