20 Year Anniversary Celebration, Community Tree Planting, Auckland
Join Conservation Volunteers New Zealand as we celebrate 20 years of community, nature, and joy. On Saturday 20 June, we’re bringing together our volunteers and supporters for a special community planting day on the Papakura Stream Restoration Project in Auckland. Everyone is welcome; however, spaces are limited, so please register early. Join us as we mark two decades of restoring nature and creating connections across Aotearoa. What’s included: You’ll be helping to plant native trees and plants as part of the Papakura Stream Restoration Project—a catchment-wide programme working to bring life back to the Papakura Stream, one of Auckland’s most impacted freshwater systems. Since 2021, we’ve planted over 168,000 native trees and plants, with 30,000+ more planned for this winter—and we’d love your help! All tools and equipment will be provided. Please wear sturdy, comfortable footwear and bring a water bottle. We will finish our planting at 12:30pm and end with some celebratory snacks for all our volunteers. For this volunteer day you are welcome to meet us on site, or at our office in Mount Eden to get a ride in our van (by prior arrangement). Bring your friends and whānau along and get ready to dig deep! This event is made possible thanks to generous funding from QBE.
